Reflecting on the road to "Blue Horizon: Hibiscus, and the Loved Garden Paths of Raj Rivera."
Had tons of fun creating "Blue Horizon: Hibiscus, and the Loved Garden Paths of Raj Rivera"! Thanks for your readership. Y'all can find the game here on Neocities (embeds Itch).
As was the case with the light novel/novella, writing up the above interactive fiction game took a surprisingly short amount of time. It took about four days to consolidate 18k words. I may be a bit obsessed over the world of Blue Horizon.
I want to thank y'all for this sort of ranking on the "new & popular" of Itchio's tags!
Here's a map of the Twine-made interactive fiction game that Hibiscus is:
There's two secret routes that are not shown, however.
Those who have checked out my Neocities gallery know my suffering in-route to creating art for the game. Each artwork focuses on Raj's relationships that are important within, and thankfully after my first disastrous attempt to draw Antonio, the rest were created way more easily.
Absolutely enjoyed MOST of the process (aside from my first foray into drawing Antonio), and am glad it's been a curiosity!
Edit 1:55 PM 02/28/25: Thanks for this! I've had Blue Horizon in my head for around 20 years and I think my 15-year-old self would be excited AF a prologue game for it is topping a well-known game site's new & popular boys' love chart:
Edit 11:02 PM 02/28/25: Took these at around 7 PM! Thanks again for an amazing first and second day. Second day was wowing. I was surprised AF.
